After the scorching summers the monsoons come as a relief. The cold air greats you when you step out and the temperature is finally bearable. Though this season has many pros, it also comes with its share of skin problems. Due to the unpredictable weather and humidity, it becomes difficult for the skin to adjust to the changes. It is important to follow a good monsoon skincare routine to overcome these problems.

Here are 5 skin care tips that are must follow during this season.
Use soap free cleansers

A soap based facewash strips your skin of its natural oils and moisture. This is harmful for your skin. It is advised to use a soap free cleanser all through the year. But including a soap free facewash in your monsoon skincare is very essential. Also, remember not to over wash your face, as it can cause closed pores and irritation.

Regular exfoliation

Though exfoliation is a must in your skin-care routine, exfoliating twice a week should be a part of your monsoon skincare. Scrubbing enhances blood circulation and flushes out toxins. This enable your skin to better absorb your skin-care products.

Don’t skip sunscreen and moisturiser

Though using sunscreen during rainy season when the sun is barely visible seem unusual remember that the harmful UV rays can still harm your skin. So, don’t forget to add sunscreen in your monsoon skincare. Use  a non-oily sunscreen if your skin gets greasy. The moisturiser will help your skin remain hydrated even in the humidity caused by rain. You can use a light weight, non-greasy formula made from natural extracts such as aloe vera. Don’t forget to reapply it every few hours.

Pay extra care to the sensitive areas

The area around your eyes and your lips is thinner than the rest of your skin. Therefore, it requires special care. While forming your monsoon skincare routine, don’t forget to take this into consideration. Use a lip scrub to get rid of all the dry skin before applying your lip balm. Include eye cream to your before bedtime routine and also don’t forget to apply lip balm before you sleep.

Include vitamin C

Vitamin C is a very healthy and effective antioxidant. It helps boost your immune system and fight infections. Include orange juice and other citrus fruits to your diet. You can also include vitamin C serum in your monsoon skincare routine. It fights bacteria, delays signs of ageing and reduces blemishes and scars to give you radiant and flawless skin.

Enjoy a healthy, glowing skin this monsoon!
