In the villages surrounding Nashik, it’s common for youngsters to pass their time playing with slingshots. They use these to hurl stones at harmless birds. This is thought to be a recreational or a fun activity among the many youngsters.
To handle this downside, Indian Forest Service officer Anand Reddy, took to Twitter and raised an easy query — Will you punish the child for doing so?
Punishing the children or sizing the slingshots is just not the answer. It’s simple for youngsters to make these slingshots again.
So, this is what the IFS Officer suggests as a substitute:
- Speak to the kid.
- Clarify how painful that is for the chicken.
- Make them promise to not damage a chicken once more.
- Lastly, request them to voluntarily give up their slingshot.
The previous month on World Atmosphere Day, he began the initiative — ‘Galor Samarpan Abhiyan’, to encourage youngsters to voluntarily give up their slingshots. Upon listening to the aim of the initiative, inexperienced volunteers assigned to villages laboured day and night, even in the course of the rains, to succeed in the mission. At present, it has become a motion with more than 590 slingshots surrendered by youngsters throughout 68 villages. Now, youngsters themselves are taking this motion forward to unfold consciousness amongst others of their village.
Change a child to change a generation
Anand writes, “Change a child, you’ll change a generation.”
Anand concludes by saying, “Don’t seize the slingshot however attempt to win his coronary heart via optimistic reinforcements. Give him a colouring guide, a pen, or candies and ask him to get rid of the apply. He won’t do it as we speak, however, finally he will.”
