On Wednesday, The Directorate General Of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued a fresh set of rules regarding the suspension of travel abroad. A statement said, “This restriction shall not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by the DGCA.”
The DGCA still has a few flights operational which are subject to change provided the condition permits.
Apart from this, there are a few countries that are allowing passengers from India, and they are listed below.
South Korea
Indian travelers to South Korea don’t need to quarantine themselves for two weeks if they have received both the doses of Covishield vaccine. But all those who have received Covaxin will have to quarantine as it has not been approved by the WHO yet.
Russia
Russia is one of the few countries that is allowing Indians to arrive on tourist visas but there are fewer flights operating at the moment. There were promises of vaccine holidays which are turning out to be false after the Russian authorities confirmed with India that the country isn’t inoculating tourists.
Turkey
Turkey is welcoming Indian tourists but it has made voting days of quarantine upon landing mandatory for them. Travelers will also have to undergo an RT PCR test on the 14th day and only on testing negative will they be allowed to leave the quarantine facility.
Egypt
Egypt is another destination that is open to Indian tourists. But all those arriving in the country will have to take a rapid DNA test on arrival. When found positive travelers will either be asked to return to their point of departure or be isolated for at least 14 days.
Switzerland
Switzerland has said in a statement that entry from a country with a variant of the wireless of concern is allowed under certain conditions like quarantining and inoculating them before they enter the country.
South Africa
South Africa hasn’t imposed any travel restrictions on Indian tourists since the beginning of the pandemic but flight options remain limited as do ports of entry into the country are also under level one curfew which amounts to traveling under restrictions but may not be enjoyed by holidaymakers.
However, it is to your advice not to travel now because of the Delta and Delta plus variant. These variants have been shown to be much more transmissible than their previous variants. Until we get out of this, stay safe, stay indoors and use a mask at all times.
