The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management (DSGMC) announced that the country’s cheapest diagnostic facility will start functioning at Gurdwara Bangla Sahib in December and an MRI is just going to cost Rs. 50.
A dialysis centre is also being set up at Guru Harkrishan Hospital where the procedure will cost only Rs. 600, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, DSGMC President said.
He also added that equipment worth Rs. 6 crores were donated to the hospital which included four dialysis machines and a machine each for X Ray and MRI. The MRI services will be meted out the needy for just Rs. 50 and for others it will cost Rs. 800. A committee of doctors have been set up who will decide who needs a concession.
Lower income groups have a hard time in India when it comes to such diagnostics. They have to shell out anywhere from Rs. 2500 to Rs. 4000 for an MRI. Whereas, at Bangla Sahib they will be able to get an X-Ray and Ultrasound at Rs. 150 only!
This is a great win for humanity!
